District Camp
Wigan District Camp Bibby's Farm Scout Campsite
11th - 13th June 2010
The
District Camp in the heat of a hot weekend in June and what a
weekend it was! There were over 200 members of the District camping
and with the Beavers visiting for the day on the Saturday there was
over 300 members of the District present all having a lot of
fun.
The Day started with the District Commissioner cooking
16th Wigan's breakfast. All of the cubs Scouts and
Leaders at 16th Wigan managed to survive their encounter
with the DC's cooking. We are informed that the DC is taking orders
for next years breakfasts.
Activities were all over the site on
the Saturday! There was climbing, shooting, archery, canoeing,
grass sledging and four large inflatables that nearly every one in
the District went on at some point in the day. There were many
other activities for everyone to have ago at.
Saturday night saw a camp fire and England play the USA in The
World Cup on a big screen, just a shame about the result.
Sunday morning there was the great tug of war
competition which was won by 3rd Hindley after they only
just beat a team of very fit athletic Leaders!

The rain came just as we all were off home.
The District team would like to thank all those too numerous to
mention for their efforts in making the District Camp a great
success.
Did you take any pictures at the District
Camp?
If so can you send them to stephen@wiganscouts.org.uk
or send them on a disc. We will then put them all on to a disc and
pass them out around the District.
